2018 Catalogue

Hello,

I'd created a catalogue back in the end of 2016 for our 2017 catalogue, it was a bit of a pain getting all the products, product names and bullets points for each product into the catalogue but I finally did it.

I've now been tasked with creating 2018's catalogue, I'm hoping there will be a quick way to export all the products, names and bullet points into the 2018 catalogue without having to reformat it all.

The design is vastly different but image size remains the same so, that help I guess...

Any workaround, please forward an article or some video i can watch

If you have applied object styles to pictures, you can switch to InDesign CC 2018 where obejct styles can nowdeal with xy positionning and size. That would help saving some time rearrange all the pics.

However if the design has changed drastically, there won't be much magic. What about  using 3rd parties catalog automation tools ?

Those are the ones that will make your daily job easier

Yes this new feature with the eyedropper tool and object style is very helpful to improve production.

Thanks for that feedback, I've not set my images up in like that so it may not help - I'm just lazy haha.

Do you have any recommendations on software for that purpose? perhaps a plugin

Many thanks.

Well you just get yourself even more work now just by avoiding some.

There won't be any plugins doing the work for you menaing repurposing your whole content.

However a script might help by easing ypir work if you can determine some logic.

Regarding to 3rd party plugns, I was talking about products easing your catalogue assembly but it requires that you set alll the templates that will be used for product data placements.
