Been working with Indesign using Abobe Caslon for several weeks now. Today, it has become unavailable in Indesign, but it is available in Illustrator. I tried deleting, rebooting (cold and warm) , and clearing the cache but no luck getting it to work again. Using Indesign 20.0.1, which was updated 20 days ago. This is not due to an Indesing software update. I searched for Caslon on my C: drive, but it was nowhere to be found. TCaslon did not work on several documents, including one I updated over 6 months ago.  Documents from 3 years ago, which looked fine a few days ago, are now missing Adobe Caslon. I am synching fonts through Creative Cloud. I tried turning it on and off with a reboot, but no luck. SInged in and out of Creative Cloud several times. Any thoughts on next steps?

I used creative cloud to initially install Above Caslon pro, where it worked fine for weeks. Today it did not work in I design, yet was fine in Illustrator. Other fonts seemed to have similar problems I rolled back I design to an earlier release with no effect. My second font was Futura PT. I uninstalled and reinstalled the fonts with no effect.

Try signing out and then signing back in again from your Adobe account in the Creative Cloud Desktop app. For some strange reason this has helped me to resolve Adobe font issues in the past when I've encountered them. It does sound like a dumb fix but it's certainly worth a try.

I invested over an hour with Adobe support, and they were awful. The tech never admitted she did not have an answer and refused to escalate this to a superior. She would ask me to show her the problem and then take over my mouse and prevent me from showing her the problem. The problem was never solved. I followed instructions online to completely uninstall Adobe products, etc. but that did not work either.  I will try buying the 1 font for $35 and see if that works. If anyone has any other ideas, let me know. I really do not want to revise the entire 300 page book just because Adobe has a problem. BTW - This happens on both my laptop and desktop so it must be an Adobe Indesign issue.

Hi @ChaikenVineyards,

Thank you for reaching out, and I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing with Adobe Caslon Pro in InDesign. To assist you better, could you please share the following details:

1. The version of InDesign you're currently using (e.g., 20.0.1).

2. Your operating system and version (e.g., Windows 11 or macOS 14.1).

In the meantime, try the below suggestions as well:

1. Ensure that Adobe Caslon Pro is active in the Creative Cloud Desktop App:

 - Open the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

 - Navigate to Fonts > Manage Fonts.

 - Verify that Adobe Caslon Pro is active. If not, activate it again.

2. Reset InDesign Preferences:

 - Close InDesign.

 - Relaunch it while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Cmd+Option+Shift (Mac).

 - Confirm the prompt to reset preferences.

3. Check Font Usage in Creative Cloud Files:

 - Open Illustrator, where the font works.

 - Verify if it is installed from Creative Cloud or stored locally.

 - If it is synced from Creative Cloud, deactivate and reactivate the font in the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

4. Clear Font Cache:

 - For macOS:

Delete the font cache located at ~/Library/Caches/com.adobe.FontCache.

 - For Windows:

Navigate to %LocalAppData%\Adobe\InDesign\Version [your version]\en_US\Caches and delete the FontCache folder.

5. Test in a New User Profile:

 - Create a new user account on your system.

 - Log in and check if the font works in InDesign under the new profile.

    Windows - https://adobe.ly/3ZWPrSi

Let us know if these steps help resolve the issue or if the problem persists. A screenshot or screen recording of the error would also help us understand better.

Looking forward to your response!

Best,
Abhishek Rao
