Please upgrade your application to latest version

InDesign cc 2018 has several fixes related to stability. You may be resolved there.

Have you tried resetting your InDesign preferences?

To do so:

Hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift when launching InDesign and respond affirmatively when asked if you want to reset. The question about resetting appears and then goes away very quickly, so be alert.
