Hello everyone,
I am trying to do an Adobe PDF INTERACTIVE doc for a project but each time that I export it, my 3 IMG loose of their quality, whereas on indesign, they are perfect.
here are the pictures info:
1st IMG:
-format: JPEG
-Profile: RGB
-actual PPI: 300
-effective PPI: 300
-dimension: 3000 x 2003
2nd IMG:
-format: JPEG
-Profile: RGB
-actual PPI: 304
-effective PPI: 361
-dimension: 2003 x 3000
-format: JPEG
-Profile: RGB
-actual PPI: 300
-effective PPI: 240
-dimension: 3000 x 2003
Does anyone have an explanation, please? I just start in this creative world so all advices are the welcome :glowing_star:
thanks a lot in advance for you help!
Léonie
Interactive PDFs downsample images - meaning they lower the resolution of your images to make the file size smaller.
Under compression in the PDF export options - you can select No Compression.
Or best setting for interactive PDF is about 150 PPI - this can be done in the PDF export options.
You could work with a larger page dimension and make sure the placed image’s Effective Resolution is equal to or higher than 300ppi. Here I have two documents, one at 5" x 5" and the other at 10" x 10". The image in both cases have an Effective res well over the 300ppi resolution I’m setting in the export.
If I check the pixel dimensions in AcrobatPro the 10x10 version is twice as large as the 5x5 version, even though both have been exported at 300ppi:
Hi Léonie,
you could export two PDFs:
[A] PDF Interactive
[B] PDF for Print
Open the PDF from [A] in Acrobat Pro DC.
Use the Organize Pages workspace and replace all pages with the pages from [B].
All your interactive features should be maintained.

With Interactive exports the exported resolution is set in the Compression>Resolution tab, and the max is 300ppi. If you use 300 the image with the effective res of 361 will get sampled down to 300ppi
