I have a bunch of manuals that i need to place into InDesign from Microsoft Word and a TOC was generated within word so it lets me generate the rest of the manual by the Parents I add to my InDesign docs. If I try to remove said TOC it just moves from page to page. How do I break that connection in InDesign so I can let InDesign generate the TOC by my paragraph styles after all my word pages have been placed...

Not sure why it's not letting you delete the TOC from Word. But I would suggest bringing in the text without the TOC. Go to File > Place, select the Word file. Hold down the Shift key and press the Open button. This will bring you into the options for the for placing the text. Simply uncheck Table of Contents and it won't be included in the placed text.

Hi @Bruce6062:

Or, if the TOC is already in the InDesign file.... select the Word TOC with the Type tool and press Bksp or Del. In a threaded frame situation, if you select the frame and delete it, the contents in that frame will simply move to the next frame.
