How do I put an apostrophe over a letter in a Spanish name?
There are different keyboard shortcuts to access the various diacritics on Mac and Windows systems. If you tell us which platform you are on and which character you are looking for, we can be very specific.
As a general answer, all of the characters that have accents are listed in a table under the Type > Glyphs. Locate the one you want and double click to add it to the text.

Option `(key above tab) + letters = à À è È ì Ì ò Ò ù Ù
Option e = á Á é É í Í ó Ó ú Ú
Option i = â Â ê Ê î Î ô Ô û Û
Option n = ã Ã ñ Ñ õ Õ
Option u = ä Ä ë Ë ï Ï ö Ö ü Ü ÿ Ÿ
You can also look in the Glyphs palette on either OS.
