New Here ,
Jun 11, 2024 Jun 11, 2024

Hi im having problems with the automatic summary generator. Sometimes when there is 2 titles on the same page, it scrambles the order and messes it up. Does anyone have any idea of what may be happening?

some other times, after we manually adjust it. And someone else open the file through inCopy, some items on the summary starts showing like 10 items in one line.

We are having trouble with this problems i wonder is anyone can help us.

Thank you

From your followup note, I assume you mean the Table of Contents feature.

There are several reasons a TOC might collect faulty information for its listing. The primary one is when a document is created using manually-created text frames and the internal, "technical" order of them on each page is not the same as the visual/layout order.

That is, if you have content in frames you created one at a time, perhaps several to a page, InDesign doesn't know what order to read them for the TOC entry information. This can be time-consuming and frustrating to sort out.

TOCs work best with all text in a single flow, or in an organized series of text flow/articles.
