baseline shift in fields

I created a simple form in InDesign, with about a dozen text fields. They all work fine except one. When anyone enters text into it, the baseline is shifted so you see only the lower half of each character. I see no superscript option in the Fields palette and the designated font is the same in all fields, so I don't think that's the problem. I replaced the field with a new one: same thing happens. I do most of my work in Illustrator so I'm not an ID expert. Maybe there's some obvious kink I'm overlooking?

Is any actual baseline shift applied to that paragraph or section of text?

Move the text cursor through that content. The value should remain 0.

Thanks for your replies! No baseline shift in the paragraph. Willi, the issue exists in the ID doc and the PDF. I tried increasing the height of the box as a workaround; this kind of works, i.e. it makes the text entirely visible but the oversize field looks clumsy.

Fields need more space. Adjusting the baseline may be dificult as it has some variations depending on the recipient’s computer. You cannot expect that the text in form fields fills all requirements of microtypography.

Did you open the PDF in Acrobat? Or did you use a different Viewer?

Thanks Willi. Opened it in Acrobat Pro but other users (Mac and Windows) get the same glitch.

Re microtypography: I don't expect the fields to support minor typographic details but I wouldn't call baseline shift a minor detail, especially on a form that's circulated externally and looks sloppy.
