Better Master Pages Concept

Explorer ,
Aug 27, 2018 Aug 27, 2018

if a page is based on a mater page it seems likely that users will want to selectively turn on or off the visibility on a page to page basis.

currently in 13.1 x64 Indesign lets you choose none as an option on a page level of granularity

it would be better if the master page elements had their own layer in the page layers panel and each sub element that is on the master page had an eyeball icon to selectively turn on and off the visibility at the page being viewed.

If you would like to pass this idea directly on to Adobe head on over to their Feature Request page and give them this suggestion.

I think this is a valid idea for a new feature.

Yep, post it to the feature request page!

You're definitely onto something with the selective visibility idea. But I wouldn't want all master page items on one layer.

Maybe the ability to 'Hide Master Page Item' as well as 'Override Master Page Item' could work?

i was envisioning it to be with a twirl down and nested layers that are not editable until you go to the master document.

the visibility can be adjusted like Photoshop layers pallet at the page resolution,

possibly an implementation of adjustment layers that are local in scope to the page being edited similar to Photoshop also.

Hi there,

As suggested by George and others, I would also suggest you to share your feedback/suggestion at our Adobe InDesign Feedback form. This is the best way of communicating with the Engineering and Product Management teams regarding issues and suggestions so they can be implemented in future releases.

Regards,

Srishti
