Can I access assets in a packaged InDesign file, for something else

Hi, this is a very-new, basic question. I have packed an InDesign folder for an assignment and submitted it. I now want to use a couple of Photoshop images that were packaged for my assignment, in another assignment.

Am I good to just Place the same Photoshop image into my new InDesign doc? - will it muck anything up with links in my packaged file that is still being marked?

Thank you. Still getting my head around packaging/links.

As long as you do nothing to modify the files in the packaged directory, you should have no problems whatsoever doing what you propose.
