Can't Draw out Guides in InDesign

New Here ,
Apr 22, 2021 Apr 22, 2021

Hey All,

I am trying to draw out guides in InDesign from the rulers as I have done for the past decade. However, I tried today and InDesign will NOT let me draw guides from the side and top of my rulers. Anyone have a resolve for this?

Check to see if guides are hidden (Cmd+; or View menu). Also confirm that you are not on a layer that is locked or hidden.

Hi John,

could be that your guides are hidden by an object on the page.

See: Preferences > Guides and Pasteboard > Guide Options:  [x] Guides in Back

This is a document specific setting. Uncheck this option and try again.
