cannot delete character style

hello, in a file I have a character style for hyperlinks that I can't delete. Every time I delete it and make a new hyperlink the style returns. I think I copied and pasted this from another old file. Can anyone help me delete it permanently?

Yes it will create a new style called Hyperlink.

When you create a new Hyperlink you can change the character style in the drop down list

Alternatively - you can leave the Hyperlink style

In the Character Style - edit this style

Click "Reset to Base"

Set it to be Based On - and select the Character Style you want

For all the settings - delete an the information - 

This way it will inherit the Based On style.

So the hyperlink style will inherit the character style you have selected.

If you don't want it to be based on a character style

Then don't use the Based On

And just set all the infomration in the style to nothing

leave all fields blank.
