Cannot open .indd files in CC2017

New Here ,
Mar 20, 2018 Mar 20, 2018

I'm looking for some support regarding files that were created using CS4. The users Mac has been updated to High Sierra and now InDesign will not function. The files try to open but you cannot work on them. I understand that the software is no longer supported but when trying to open these files on CC 2017 nothing happens. The application does not even open.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks

Lee

Hi,

Can you open other files in CC 2017? Are you able to launch CC 2017 and create a new document?

You can also try Troubleshooting 101: Replace, or "trash" your InDesign preferences and then retry opening the documents.

If you launch InDesign CC2017 first, and then use the Open command to access the files, does that work?

You may have to choose "open copy" in the Open dialog.

Let us know.
