Is there a way to pull the color swatch folder out of the panel?

I wanted to move the folder of the new color swatches out of the swatch panel.
You can move the swatches inside of your Colorful_Themes folder into the root level of the Swatches panel and then delete the folder. You don't have to use folders to organize your swatches, something like this where I'm eliminating my Grays folder, but keeping the swatches:

Drag the swatches out of the folder.

Trash the folder

Click on the Swatches tab and drag to the left to float the panel so it's independent of the vertical "dock" of panels.
To add it back, drag by the top over the vertical "dock" of panels. Look for the blue highlighting to see where it will be dropped to return it back to position.
If you created a custom workspace (the best choice), you can just reset the workspace to return to the original workspace appearance.

I didn't understand that, sorry.
You can delete a color group (which has the folder icon) by choosing Delete Color Group from the panel menu or dragging it to the trash can icon at the bottom of the panel.
You said "move the panel," but where were you planning moving it to?

Hi Steve,
I guess that greenflymedia likes to move the color group of the Swatches panel out to its own panel.
InDesign cannot do this. You just have one single panel for all swatches.

I'm still not sure what you want. Did Uwe guess correctly? He's right that you can't have a second swatches panel.
If not, are you trying to remove all of the other swatches but Colorful_Theme? (Select the other swatches and group and click the trash can. You can't remove the ones in brackets [ ] .) Or maybe delete just Colorful_Theme?
More details will stop the guessing.

Thanks all...
I guess I wasn't that clear.
I wanted to move the folder of the new color swatches out of the swatch panel.
This just would save a couple of steps for me to change the colors of objects and font color.

Hi,
as I already said, that's not possible. There is only one single Swatches panel that cannot be duplicated for showing different filtered swatches or swatch groups.

Uwe

Hi rob day:
I wanted to move the folder of the new color swatches out of the swatch panel.
Rob explained how to move swatches out of the folder, not out of the panel. Is this what you were looking for? If so, please let us know so that we can mark it as correct. (Or you can.)
