Converting Indesign document to Greyscale PDF for print

I have a book with black and white Photographs and black text only. Need to send the print PDF to printers in Greyscale, I cant seem to see where to do this? can anyone help?

Use the PDF/X-4 preset and choose a Gray profile as the Destination:

Keep in mind that on a CMYK to Grayscale conversion your Black values will likely convert to new Gray output values depending on your source and destination profiles, and your Appearance of Black preference—0|0|0|100 black only text might not convert to 100% Gray.

 

If that’s a problem you will be better off exporting to Document CMYK and have the printer output the CMYK Black plate.
