Hi, i have a problem with copy and past from word to indesign, for exemple when i try to copy this kind of text " 60°C " from word, it appears like this in indesign " °60C ". I also have problems with more complexe text like " (2h 60°C) et éthanol 95% (4h 60°C) " from word, and in indesign it become " (2h°60C et éthanol 4) %95h°60°C) ".
Both text are well in the same langue configuration (french) in word and indesign ...
Any ideas ?
Thanks.

Instead of copy and paste (which is a POOR way to bring in more complex formatting), using File > Place with the Word file. If you only need part of a Word documennt, separate it ahead in a separate document and use the Place command.

Bonjour,

Could it be a GREP style badly defined or used? What happens if you write yourself (not paste) 2h 60°C éthanol 95% (4h 60°C) in a text box?

It might be a font problem, since the degree symbol is involved.
What type of font is being used in the Word document? OpenType/Unicode or TrueType?
How was the symbol inserted into the Word document? Did the author use the Insert Symbol tool in Word and select Unicode character 00B0 as shown below?
Correct method of inserting degree symbol in MS Word.
If not, the characters can become scrambled when you copy from Word and paste into InDesign.

Hi, thanks a lot for your help, but it wasn't an import problem or font problem, JM you was right, some part of the text apperas to be configurated as arabic into indesign, don't know why, but when I put it back in french it's OK !!
Thanks a lot to everybody who took the time to answer me.
