Indesign CS5 Mac
Have a lage document with portraits - 1 of the portraits needs to come out and need to shift them over. In Quark you could copy and past image into another image box and get same scale and X&Y location. I have tried the direct selection tool copied the image and paste into the empty box next to it but the scale is off.
Is there a work around this in Indesign.

This is something in Muse that has frustrated me for a long time. I set graphic frames inside text boxes and frequently need to swap out portraits.
I used Quark - but switched to InDesign since its Y2K release. And a simple Paste-Into (available in ID) is what I believe you want. I have achieved this in Muse by following these steps.
1 - Double click on the existing frame to select the Content Frame
2 - Next, Place (Command D) and select your new image/graphic
3 - Once the loaded image/graphic appears, move your cursor over the selected Content Frame and click to set
Another way I achieved a Past-Into in Muse was to select and copy the contents of one Content Frame, then select the the Graphics Frame of the second. Then use the key command Command/Opt/Shift V for paste into.
Not sure if this is what you are trying to achieve, but perhaps it will help others.

I'm probably a bit late to the party, but the answer is an object style, and specify the "frame fitting" options as u wish. It's not perfect, but you can kinda allign your image in the menu, then just copy paste the frame, and use "paste into".
