Could I generate buttons for interactive pdf by using script?

Hi community,

I'm designing an organizational chart for the administration of my city. Please note I have little coding/scripting experience, I'm purely a graphic designer. I wanted it to be interactive, so I've opted for an interactive pdf in Indesign.

The result is a bubble-like chart, with 'mouse over' and 'mouse off' buttons. The explanations right from the bubble chart appear/dissappear by the hovering the mouse on the chart. This all works great, but I'm doing it all manually and looking towards hours and hours of very very boring work. I was thinking, maybe if all the buttons are made, maybe with a script I can speed up the process?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

P.

Why don't you go directly to a web version? with Publish Online in InDesign?

I suggest creating this chart with HTML5/JS in another tool…

A web version seems better yes. So you do NOT advice using Indesign (CC) for this?

It's not clear to me how you're doing this, but maybe this example would get you started.

Mouse overs are pretty easy to do in InDesign. And Publish Online is a great way to get your InDesign documents on the web. Here are several examples of what can be done using InDesign and Publish Online. Hope this helps.
