Is it possible to delete a button's roll over state once it's created? I can hide it, but I want it gone or deactivated. Any way to do this?

Because that's not how it works for rollovers - it's a different feature.

Unfortunately, no. I'm specifically referring to deleting the rollover state once one has been created.

You have to convert it back to an object.

Right. I know that's what you have to do to convert the button back, but was trying to figure out if you could delete just the rollover state. Seems like a simple feature for Adobe to fix.

That's how it works - when you convert an object to a button you get the rollover states etc.

If you want to delete them you convert it back to an object.

Maybe they could add a 'delete rollover state' but that would effectively turn it back to an object.

So it could maybe a bit clearer how to do it.

But I don't get the problem you are facing - what are you trying to solve, what's the issue?

What's your final output format for the document?

You hide it on export but I'm not sure you can delete it once you create it. I rarely use rollovers anymore because they don't work on touch devices.

I had a very complex multi-state object that contained 6+ buttons, and I was actually creating a responsive layout where the buttons needed to be resized, but if you have experience doing that, you know that when you resize a button that already has a rollover state, the rollover state doesn't automatically resize, so the rollover state exists in a slightly different location. And even hiding them doesn't truly remove it. So that's why I wanted to delete it for the mobile version.

Your rollover state will be independent - almost like a multi-state object - you'll need to edit and manipulate as needed.

Exactly, but on an MSO, you can delete individual states. Not sure why we can't have that option with rollover states.

This is definitely an issue and the feature should be added. We shouldn't have to revert the button to a non-button in order to delete a button state.
