double-click a window's title to minimise.

Hi.

Mac Sierra 10.13.4 Creative Cloud business sub.

Since the latest update, both InDesign and Illustrator fail to minimize when I double-click on the window's title bar. To minimize either of them, I have to click on the "-" on top left of window. No problem with Photoshop and Acrobat. Settings in system prefs are set ok.

Does anyone know how to fix this annoying pest.

Thanks.

It works for me in InDesign if I turn off the Application Frame choice in the Windows menu.

Hi Steve. Thanks for your suggestion but on my computer it only works for the document window, not the application window. As having multiple applications open at the same time it is useful to minimize what you don't need: Photoshop and Acrobat do this by double-clicking on the application bar but not InDesign and Illustrator. All Microsoft Office applications also do, as well other third party applications. Tried different options but all with the same result. Again thanks.

My suggestion won't solve your situation, but how about the Mac keyboard shortcut defaults? Command + H will minimise the most open window. Here's the full list: Mac keyboard shortcuts - Apple Support

Working in an office of 10+ people, I'm often fascinated how some people navigate through their workspaces. One colleague uses multiple desktops, constantly uses the F3 and F4 keys to call up either other desktops or apps, and runs rings around me in terms of speedily getting from A to B. I'm content with just using command + tab or command + option + tab to navigate through active applications.

If the answer wasn't in my post, perhaps it might be on my blog at colecandoo!

Hi red_aussie:

I also rely on multiple desktops (aka Spaces) on my Macs. On any given day I have my email/browser on the first one, and then InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop on the next three. I just slide between them by dragging four fingers on my trackpad, but Ctrl left and right arrow also work.
