Edit and update Library Item InDesign CC

Working on a large document that will have a MSO Menu on all of the pages.

I'd ideally have the menu in a Library, and be able to edit the menu, and have the changes propogate to all of the instances of the menu on all of the pages, rather than having to maintain 50+ items on the pages.

I am testing this, and I can see the item in the menu that I have updated, but none of the instances have updated.

Is there a way to do this?

This is not a function of InDesign Libraries. But you can do this with Place and Link through the Content Collector.
