operating system: Windows 10

In Indesign, having placed a PSD file and wanting to edit in PSD, one uses the Links panel.

On my machine, when I click the edit button, it's not PSD that opens, it Paint!!!

How do I fix this?

No guesses, only pro answers please.

Many thanks

maybe your file association is off.  go to properties of any photoshop file and check what it says for "open with" i bet it says paint instead of photoshop. change it to photoshop, and make sure you apply to all file in the machine
