Hola,

Gracias

You can have one style only and insert an “end of nested style character” at the very beginning of the paragraph to force the bold character to stop. I use it very often.

Text menu > Insert a special character > other > end of nested style.

To go further, you could use a single paragraph style for all your exemples. Just choose to end the bold style by choosing either comma, dot, colon for the triggering character.

We need to see the actual file. Can you share it? Or a sample in another document?

This is the same screenshot as before - we need to see TEXT - as either attached file or screenshot.

But please turn on SHOW HIDDEN CHARACTERS before taking screenshot.

Hi @Yositengofeis36391281366w , Is the text behind the dialog the text you are trying to style? If so I don’t see the colon character (:) you are setting in the Nested Styles dialog.

ejemplo 1 (.)

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec efficitur purus eget sapien auctor tempus. Integer vehicula congue purus, a maximus nisl tempus eget.

ejemplo 2 (:)

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit: donec efficitur purus eget sapien auctor tempus. Integer vehicula congue purus, a maximus nisl tempus eget.

ejemplo 3 (,)

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec efficitur purus eget sapien auctor tempus. Integer vehicula congue purus, a maximus nisl tempus eget.

ejemplo 4

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec efficitur purus eget sapien auctor tempus. Integer vehicula congue purus, a maximus nisl tempus eget.

  • Sed eleifend nibh leo: id ornare felis aliquet a.

  • Morbi porttitor massa a elementum rhoncus.

No sé si me estoy explicando.

And yet, Indesign bolds all of the above for me, even though there are no 2 dots (:)

As there is nothing to find - InDesign is styling the whole paragraph - "can't be found" = "style to the end of the Paragraph".

That's the only way - there is no "If..Then...Else" in InDesign.

Thank you so much to all for the help.

My document is over 500 pages long that I can't share because I'm creating a company handbook

You don't have to share the document, just cut and paste a few paragraphs that are not working into  a new document and share that
