Hello everyone, I was trying to export a file in InDesign 20 as a .INDD and it said the file could not be saved. I have tried lots of things to fix this but none of them have worked, such as:
- Rolled back to previous version of InDesign
- Rolled back to previous version of Driver (Last week just got a new GPU (Intel B580))
- Reset InDesign preferences completely
- Cleared InDesign cache
When I reset preferences, I went to export a blank file as a PDF and it worked, then I went to export a real project as a .INDD and it worked, but I had to go back and edit something and went to save it after I had edited it, and it failed to save again. Anyone have any id
eas? Thanks

You need to clarify what you're doing. You can't export an INDD file, you can save one.

Sorry, I meant save. Was trying to save it as an INDD file so I could then export as a PDF.

I wonder if you experience the same issue:

Update: This is now happening on two desktops now and not just my original one.

Hi @mr_7180,
I'm checking in to see if you're still experiencing the issue. If it's still happening, could you please confirm where you're saving the file, locally on your computer or to a network or synced drive? Try saving it to a completely local location, like your desktop, and test again after restarting your system. Also, let me know if this happens with one specific file or all your projects, and please confirm the exact version of InDesign 2025 you're using.
Looking forward to your update, so I can take this further.
Abhishek
