File icon missing after update to 14.0.1 x64

Explorer ,

After update the .indd file has a blank icon (default windows)

The file is opening in Indesign, the system assotiation is correct

In bridge - everything is set corrent.

Any ideas what went wrong? The uninstall/reinstall process is too painfull.

Before update to 2018, i've left the previous version, then uninstalled - so the file associations were broken but fixed manually.

There is nothing painful about uninstall / reinstall. You can do both from the CC Desktop app.

Well. After reinstall You have to set up everything from scratch

  1. Settings - manually everything - no one uses just as it is.
  2. Pallettes - position, options etc.
  3. Shortcuts (no way to upload, have to save and replace)
  4. Default documents settings

So it is time consuming, and so it should not be called UPDATE but REINSTALL.

Hi marcinz ,

exactly. I'm doing this every time a new version is out.

I never migrate settings if possible. Just my habit to prevent problems in the long run.

Regards,
Uwe
