InDesign 18.5 / OS 14.0 (Sonoma)

I don't know if this issues is related to InDesign iteself or to my recent system update to Sonoma, but when I select text in InDesign, the screen flickers. This is sooo annoying and I am on a deadline. I tried restarting and shutting down with no effect. Anyone else having this problem?

I did some futher reading and found other users who solved the problems by hiding the rulers in ID. No more flickering, but of course, no rulers either. Hopefully Apple or Adobe will find the bug soon and zap it.

Some users have reported that turning on GPU Performance might help. That comes with its own issues but it's worth a try.

Woohoo - I thnk that worked. I tried that earlier with rulers still visible, no effect. Now I rechecked GPU and have rulers visible, and the flickering has stopped ... for now anyway. Thanks!

The shine on Adobe's penny is quickly losing its lustre. Why the heck can't this be fixed? To get the software that is expensive by today's standards to work "properly" is to turn off functionality. I teach Adobe, which means every semester, I introduce about 45 to 50 students to the software. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE @ADOBE. I am also battling XD issues. PixlR and Canva are starting to look really good right now. I wonder if Affinity Publisher and VivaDesigner struggle like this. Perhaps something to consider going forward.

Dear Adobe,

We are your PAYING customers begging you to fix basic issues with your software. Prioritize the needs of the customer over the nice-to-have functionality.

I had this problem, and it seems this solved it:

https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/f/microstation-forum/224707/important-informat...

TL;DR: enable playing od 3D multimedia (Multimedia & 3D tab) and disable Protected mode at startup (security (enhanced) tab). Restart software.
