Gradient Images Not Printing Correctly Over Black

New Here ,
Apr 05, 2019 Apr 05, 2019

My main issue is when I go to print my documents with fades/gradients on it... it prints with a weird pink haze on it.

We have one of those massive Canon printers, we called the Canon guy out and he said that it is a program issue.

This is in InDesign the black is in CMYK and at 30% black

The gradient was made in photoshop, and it has no other weird transparency effects on it.

Under Preferences I have "Output all blacks accurately" selected

The image is in 16 bit/ CMYK in photoshop

When I make a low-res PDF and print from that, the pink haze doesn't print.

PLEASE HELP ME!!! Nobody in my office can figure it out and nothing I've found on google has helped me.

How it looks in my InDesign:

Composite print drivers don’t always handle transparency flattening and CMYK color conversions correctly.

You could make a hi-res PDF with all of the other settings the same as the low-res PDF that works.

Or simply combine the backgrounds into a single raster image if you must print direct from InDesign.

Printing to RGB drivers directly from InDesign can be tricky—most users print via Acrobat.

From ID, make sure the Output>Color is set to Composite RGB, and try creating an all raster flattener preset and use that in the Print>Advanced tab (see Re: Background printing dark gray, images on top printing black )
