Gradient transparency and angle option

I want to apply a gradient in the paragraph shading panel of a paragraph style. I have only option to select from swatches. But the swatches gradient panel does not have the option of angle and also transparency. It is only available through the effects and gradients panel. Any solution?

Short answer: Yes.

And there is no solution.
