Highlighting text issue

Explorer ,
Apr 09, 2018 Apr 09, 2018

Since I updated to CC 2018, whenever I highlight text (like to change the name on a business card) it gives me a little italicized "O" and I have to hit a key before I can begin typing, or my word starts with the second character. When I click on the italicized "O" it tell me "Open type properties are not applicable". This happens about 90% of the time across various fonts. I hope that makes sense, I further hope someone has a fix. Thanks!

You can turn this off in the Advance Type section of InDesign preferences. Uncheck the last option in the dialog window.
