How to check for consistent text frame alignment?

Participant ,

Is there a way to double-check if all text frames are in the same position without having to go through 200 pages? My first thought was to use the Preflight tool, but I can't seem to find an option for that. Am I missing something, or is there another way?

Thank you!

If the position of the frames was created by positioning them on parent (master) pages for all your pages, just check the parent pages.

If they were manually positioned, create an object style which specifies the positioning. If you (or someone else) can create a script, the object style could be applied quickly to all the pages. If not, apply the object style page by page.

@Mateomono

If you work on a PC - you could use free version of my ID-Tasker tool to load complete structure of your document.

After you load Objects level info - you can sort by POS X / POS Y columns - and quickly see which frames are out of order.

Of course, you can filter by any of the 1000+ object properties: type - TextFrames only, layer, applied ObjectStyle, width/height, transparency effects, etc.

  1. Use the margins, which you define on the master/parent.
  2. Use object styles, there you can define size and position.
