How can I choose which font is used in text form fields and how can I, for example, choose text centering of af formfield?
I am well aware that this can be selected and specified in Acrobat DC (after exporting the documen as an interactiv PDF file), but may it be right that I can not specify formats for text form fields when the document is created in Adobe Indesign CC?

Yes it defaults to Times, you can change the font (use system fonts), size (up to 14pt from memory) colour and alignment and some other features in Acrobat Pro.

Have a look at Form Magic: FormMagic | Id-Extras.com
P.S. I've just checked and the maximum size of text is 18pt.

More options when creating Forms via InDesign – Adobe InDesign Feedback
I've created an Adobe Acrobat sequence file that is used through the actions panel in Acrobat to change fonts. A video of it can be seen here:

The SEQU file can be downloaded from here:

However, this solution requires an Acrobat-side solution and a knowledge of javascript if you want to make other formatting changes. The FormMagic application that Derek has suggested is a great solution that is available on the InDesign-side.

Thank you very much for your reply - I appreciate it. I've given my vote for Adobe to implement the same options for editing forms in indesign as in acrobat - thanks again!

Don't use any other fonts than Acrobat Standard Form Font as it would blow up the size of the document and causes more often crashes as those fonts must be embedded completely (not every font's licence does allow this) contrary to these standard fonts.

Good advice. Of course, another option is to use free fonts for the form and distribute them along with the PDF. That way they don't need to be embedded into the PDF itself. Depends what the use is for this form, but I've seen quite a few examples where this is definitely a feasible option...

No, separate fonts are NOT option for form fields. Fonts other than the base 14 must be embedded in a form field: that’s the rule of PDF. This is a possibillity for other text, but something of a pain for the end user.
