How to Extend Underlining Beyond Text in a Paragraph Style in InDesign

When making a pargraph style, I would like to extend my underlining beyond the text. Not across the entire page, but to a certain amount of space for a nice effect. How can I set this up so I do not have to manually go through my sections and hit the space bar after the desired text?  Instead, I would like to add it to the paragrpah style I am using for that text.  Thank you!

Also, I was very happy with the training from the Adobe NJ InDesign Group recently, how can I find other resources like this or joint this group fully if anyone knows? I am not able to attend live due to time zone diffrences, but appreciated the recorded event.
