I am an Indesign newbie. I placed a Word document into Indesign. How do I create paragraph spacing for the entire document?
I think I can help there too:
1) Create the style. For the purpose, let's name it Paragraph with Space. Then open your Paragraph Styles panel if it isn't already open in InDesign.
2) Get your Text tool. Click anywhere into the text, then press Cmd/Ctrl+A (depending on whether you're on a Mac or Windows system) to invoke the Edit>Select All menu command. If all the text is placed in a single thread, this will highlight text in the entire document. If not, you'll have to repeat this step and the fol

The best way to do that is with Paragraph Styles in InDesign. This allows you to specify a Space After distance to insert your paragraph spacing after each paragraph. Also, if you're looking to adjust spacing within the paragraph, it allows you to adjust Leading for spacing between lines in the paragraph.

Thanks Randy. BUT how do I select all of the frames to apply the new paragraph style I created? OH EUREKA!! i just highlighted (selected) a text paragraph and clicked on "Normal", applied my new paragraph style which I created. It seems to have applied to the entire document! I didn't realize I had to do that step. Am I on the right track?

3) Go to the Paragraph Styles panel and click on the Paragraph with Styles line. If you should see a plus sign after the name, hold down the Option/Alt key (depending on Mac/Windows usage) and do it again to remove any style overrides.
Lather/Rinse/Repeat as necessary. This should get things done the way you'd like them to be.
Good luck,
Randy
