Hello
Is there any way to make a fill of a table transparent (reduce the opacity) so that the background image is visible.
Im unable to find a way to do it so ive taken a text box and reduced its fill under Effects and overlaid it over the table, but it doesn't seem like the optimum way.
Any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks

You've probably already tried using Object > Effects > Transparency on the table itself. The problem with this option is usually that the text itself, not just the fills, are also affected. Trying to isolate the transparency to just the cell fill itself usually involves some sort of workaround as it's still not possible to do this in InDesign. (As far as I know.)

Hi,
I have a workaround too. Dont know if it will suit your needs.
You can stack one table over the other. Table 1 can have only the cell colors and this frame has reduced opacity. Text in this table can have the color set to [None]. Table 2 can have the text in the needed color with cell fill color set to [None].
You can then stack Table 2 over Table 1 and then group both of them. Now place the image anywhere below the group.
