I will make a pattern sheet that can be downloaded on 4A papers.
How to place the pages, like in the pic, in Indesign?

It’s easier to do that in Illustrator. Setup Artboards in a 4x8 grid with no space and export the artboards to PDF:

Hi nilleg57851248,

a pattern of pages like 4 x 4 or 4 x 8 is not possible within one spread of an InDesign document.

The maximum of pages in one spread cannot exceed 10. Arranging of pages would be possible with the Page Tool, but still, there is the 10 pages per spread bareer.

FWIW: Once that was possible with InDesign CS5 and CS5.5. By doing a hack using ExtendScript (JavaScript).

But this was considered a "bug" and that "bug" was unfortunately fixed in InDesign CS6.

Regards,
Uwe Laubender

Would it work for you to create one page -- a large page that is the total size of all the sheets.

Then in the print dialog box, choose to tile the pages.

That said, I do agree with Rob Day that it would be better done in Illustrator.
