How to place word.docx file into indesign and maintain URL links

Community Beginner ,
Nov 12, 2019 Nov 12, 2019

I have a word.docx file that needs to be placed into InDesign.

My client set up the URL links in the word file.

When I place the text, i have to re-connect the links.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can place text and maintain the URL links.

thanks.

Claire

Do you use it "preserve formatting" feature in the settings?

Good morning George.

It was so nice to find a solution waiting for me when I woke up today. I am not sure what I was doing wrong, but you gave me the help to import the file correctly.

Thank you so much and have a good day.

You can even remap a style for your links:
