How to Relink Individual Excel Cells to a Different File in InDesign Without Losing Cell Links

I have many individual cells from an Excel file linked in my InDesign document and I would like to relink them all to a different Excel file that has the exact same structure. Does anyone know of a good way to update which file is feeding the data while still keeping the links to specific cells in place?

Edit > Preferences > File Handling > Links > Create Links When Placing Spreadsheet Files

Afterward, your Excel document shows up in the Links panel. 

You can therefore re-link to another excel file.

 

Another approach would be to learn how to use Data Merge in InDesign:
