How to set default script editor in InDesign 18.5?

I've just installed InDesign on a new Windows 11 machine, and later installed VS Code. If I right-click on a .jsx script in the Script panel in InDesign and select Edit Script, the script opens in Notepad. VS Code is set as the default app for .jsx files on the machine.
Is there any way to set the default editor for .jsx scripts in InDesign in Windows? I know that I can Reveal in Explorer then open the file, but it seems silly to turn a one-step process into a two-step process now that ESTK is gone.

Have you tried installing the ExtendScript Debugger extension in VS Code? I think that is why my InDesign automatically goes to VS.

The ExtendScript Debugger extension was already installed in VS Code. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but that didn't help. I'm glad to hear that it is apparently possible to work, though.

Sorry, I am working on a Mac. I'll play around with it at home and see if I can figure something out.

It's just file association on Windows
Locate the file in your folders and right click and choose Open With
Bottom option Choose another app
Then select the app - you may want to expand the selection by clicking More apps
Then select the always open with tick mark
(this is using Windows 10 - presume it's similar in Windows 11)

Setting the file association doesn't work, Eugene. Whatever I do (in Windows 10), when you try to edit a jsz from the Scripts panel it opens in Notepad. (It doesn't bother me too much because I always open files from my file manager.)

Wait a sec! It doesn't work! I could have sworn it did - my deepest apologies! I was certain enough to post it that when I checked it it didn't work... how bizarre.
Please accept my apologies!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I already have VS Code set as the default app for .jsx files in the file manager. On my machine, at least, that setting doesn't seem to affect the editor InDesign chooses to edit a script.
