hyperlink to pop up window

I would like to insert a hyperlink, which I know how to do. But this URL links to a page with a pop up window. https://letsreimagine.org/san-francisco/schedule/2018-04-18?event=20587 When I save out as an interactive pdf the link doesn't work, just getting a internal server error. So do hyperlinks in InDesign work for pop up windows on a page? Fyi, I also tried putting this link into a Word doc and it doesn't work there either. Thanks

the popup is trigger by visiting the page first.  you have to visit the page url first and than the popup will trigger. Just link to the webpage and let the popup trigger on its own instead of doing the link straight to the popup.

The issue is that the URL link is to a page with a scroll of many events over a few days, so the pop up doesn't happen until you choose the event. We were hoping for our constituents to not have to hunt for the event to select it, to get the popup.
