I recently re-installed InDesign CS6. Upon reopening a file saved before the re-install I only see the boxes of where images/text etc were before. It doesn't show the content.

I recently re-installed InDesign CS6.  I tried to open a file I had saved before the re-install and it now only shows the boxes of where images/text etc were before.  It doesn't show the content.  Is there something new I should know?

Your file looks fine on my end Sandy. I'm pretty sure you're dealing with the fact that CS6 is not working on Windows 10. CS6 is 7 versions old at this point. Probably time to upgrade. You can download a free trial of InDesign CC 2018 and test it. That would be an easy way to figure out the problem.

Why is everyone losing track of the fact that the OP is running Windows 10, which is unsupported with CS6.

I suggested running it in Win 7 compatibility mode and as far as I can see that suggestion was never acknowledged.

Bob has a point that it could be a compatibility problem with your system. That being said, you can hover  over my name on this forum and choose message.

I have downloaded a free trial of InDesign CC 2018 and everything is working well.  I'm so sorry for taking up so much of your time, Chad, Bob Levine, Buck Sommerkamp and others.  I guess I misunderstood what upgrades adobe (Kushal Singh) was giving me for InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver etc.  I thought it was solving all my problems and bringing me compatibility with windows 10 etc.
