ID 2023: previews in OS X Finder are all white

Contributor ,

I was very happy to see that after installing ID 2023 I got previews of ALL my ID documents in the Finder of OS X 12.6, even old ones (though not all). Nice. However... every document I saved ever since installing ID 2023 has no preview at ALL. All I see is a white square. What's up?

How is the File Handling in the InDesign preferences setup for you?

A white square could indicate (and probably not the case here) that your first page is blank.

You can increase the amount of preview pages in the preferences.

However, as I say - probably not the case

I'd say you could try

If a document is not behaving well then try

File>Export

Choose IDML

Open the IDML in InDesign
Save the file as a new InDesign file with a new name
See if the issue persists.

----

Or if that doesn't work

Try resetting your preferences:
The easiest way to reset everything is to delete the InDesign preferences: as soon as InDesign starts to boot hold down Shift, Alt, Ctrl (and Apple/Cmd if working on a Macintosh). A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.

Last resort

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
