Importing formatted text from Incopy to Indesign

New Here ,
May 29, 2025 May 29, 2025

Hey, I am struggling to get my placed incopy file to update in indesign. I have tried restarting, updating, quitting. I have attached screenshots. The text box in Indesign shows a pencil with a line through. I have no locked objects or layers.

Any ideas?

The first screenshot shows that you have not checked the file back in in InCopy. Also, once you've placed the file in InDesign you should be opening the INDD file in InCopy to work on it.

Do not open the ICML file once it's been placed in InDesign.
