Importing PDF

Contributor ,

I'm trying to import a PDF into InDesign. The PDF document is 125 pages. The purpose is to convert it to ePub.

I have Show Import Options checked. I have tried All and Range (selecting all pages here) and in all cases only the cover page is imported. I click on the Page popup in the lower left and, yes, only the cover page is listed.

Thoughts appreciated.

Thanks.

Apparently not. I'm working with Id CC. Sorry should have included the version.

When you go to File>New Document, you get a format type, but nothing about pages, or anything else. I've looked at the various document options. It doesn't appear there's a way to import an entire PDF document in one attempt.

Well, I found out how to create a multi-page document. It's only available when the application is fully opened. When you install and open it the first time, it opens in a simplified mode. F*$# I hate Adobe. I still can't find a Place multiple PDFs option. When I try to place the document page by page (how tedious is that?), it starts at page 37. I don't know how Adobe gets away with developing such terrible software. This is worse than the worst open-source stuff.

It's not Adobe's fault that you can't do it. The placemultipage pdf is in the scripts. Window>Utilities>scripts.

It's important that when you go to place the multi page PDF, that you don't have anything g selected. So set up your placeholders frames and pages, deselect all, then place your PDF, choose Show Inpoet Options, selecting the entire range. You should be able to click, click, click into each of the frames, placing a new page of the PDF into each frame.
