INDD inside INDD layers visibility

Hi! File indd_1 is linked to the indd_2 file that’s more than 100 pages. Please advise me how to automatically configure the visibility of layers in the all linked indd_2 pages retaining visibility preferences from its last saved state?

What is the purpose to place one indd into the other?

Common assets are organised in a way. One is a file with assets that can be worked on by different team members.

• Make different single layer files and replace them instead making layers visible. That is much easier and will cause less errors.
• Or export PDF/X-4 with desired visible layers and place those instead of the INDD files.

Yes, PDF option would be much better than placing INDD file - InDesign treat them differently - it doesn't check / analyse contents of the PDF file so you can work much faster. 

Script for setting visibility of the layers in the linked files - PDF, PSD, INDD - would be very simple, but I'm not JS guy so can only really help you if you work on a PC.

I work on PC. I thought I just didn't find this function. Unfortunately I don't know how to write this script
