InDesign 19.3: Items Jumping to Front Despite Being Sent to Back and Locked

Community Beginner ,

Anyone else having this issue:

My team are currently having a glitch where items that have been sent to back are jumping back to the front even if the item is locked. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to this as this is happening while working elsewhere in the documents and if often only noticed once it has been PDFd. It is effecting images/text boxes and solid shapes.

Have you tried resetting the InDesign settings back to the factory defaults?

We tried this across the team and unfortunately it hasn't solved the issue.

Hi Natasha3093863088pd,

We are sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with InDesign latest version. Is it possible for you to share a screen recording of the issue for better understanding so that we can investigate with the product team? Does that happen with all files or with a specific file?

We will try our best to help you.

Thanks,

Harshika

Hi Harshika, we can't really provide a recording because it doesn't happen when we are on the page. It usually happens when we are elsewhere in the doc or after closing and reopening. I have attached some screenshots to show an example, in this case the item jumped forward hiding the text box after PDFing.

Initially we thought this issue only effected one file, but now we have noticed it appearing in more and more, once it effects an item this item will conitinue to jump throughout the time we are working on it.

Thanks for sharing the screenshot and additional info. Is it possible for you to share this file with me via private message so that we can check on our end? If so, please share the file with me via private message, and I will take a look at it.

We will try our best to help here.

Thanks,

Harshika
