Got the 19.3 update this morning, with a useful NEW function: the ability to export and import earlier usersettings. This seems like a welcome function since every time one has to reset prefs for whatever reason there are a LOT of small settings you have to set one-by-one. Haven't checked if indeed all those settings are saved in a Userprofile.
UPDATE: useless; did not work as promised/expected.
In the meantime I made the switch to Sonoma. Seems Indesign is running pretty smootly though I regularly get a graphics explosion on screen which is weird. MacOS Sonoma seems to run smooth(er) though.

Wel, I hesitated to but I saved a user seetting; trashed my InDesign prefs by restarting with shift-option-command.
And… drumroll: importing usersettings did not do anything right.
Conclusion in short: that was a dead sparrow; very sad now.

- Export and Import User Settings:- InDesign provides an option to export and import User Settings, providing users with a smooth and enhanced experience to restore their custom settings if needed.
You can now
- Export User Settings to a file.
- Import and apply User Settings from a file.
- Reset user preferences
Yay to the export/import. It sames me from having to backup up the XML files.
What is new abou the Reset User Preferences? I'm not seeing anything new in that link.

Hi Pariah,
Thanks for reaching out. You can now restore the default preferences any time you want. When you select Reset Preferences On Quit, InDesign reverts to the default settings. Please refer to this section on this article.
Thanks,
Harshika
