InDesign 20 Page transitions not displaying correctly

Been trying to turn a 32-page document into an interactive PDF with page transitions using the latest version of InDesign on a Windows 10 machine. I have selected Wipe Left Up for a Two-Up (Cover Page) interactive PDF. However, when it opens in full screen mode in Acrobat Pro (latest version), it only displays as Wipe Right. I have tried exporting with different file names but no luck. I have also tried other transitions and they all display as Wipe Right. Anybody else have the same problem or is this a PEBKAC?

Hi Paul:

I think it might be that particular InDeign file.

So try saving that file to .idml, then save as to a new .indd. Then try again.

I export my pdfs to automatically open in full screen and still nothing happens with transitions. This is getting beyond ridiculous now. For any presentations with transitions I can't believe I am now having to export my pdf to Powerpoint where the transitions are just superb! Who would ever have thought that Powerpoint would trump Adobe. It must be a first!

FWIW, I, for one, would never use InDesign for something like this and would always choose Powerpoint for a presentation. I know that doesn't fix your issue, but open your mind a bit.

These are all tools and you should always choose the right tool for the job.

That said, please start a new discussion with full details on what your issue is. This one is two years old and you'll get far more attention with a new post.

Hello Derek,
This problem is already old and still not solved. Adobe never responded on the problem. Do you, as a Adobe Community Professional represent Adobe?
Regards,

No – I'm just a volunteer, like all ACPs.

Since Flash has become obsolete many interactive PDF features have been unavailable.

If you need transitions, have a look at in5, an InDesign plug-in (at extra cost).

Thank you Derek for your respons, especially since you do this voluntarily!

I am familiar with in5. It has nice features but also it's shortcomings (beside of the high costs 🙂

As said before, page-transitions still work on Windows. The functionality on Mac stopt with BigSur.

Any idea why Adobe doesn't respond on our complains?

Thank you for your reply but I am viewing in full screen mode. My files used to work fine before. Transitions appears to no longer work on the mac. Looks like this has been a problem for a while now, Ive spent hours researching others suggestions but none of it works. Very frustrated, when is Adobe going to fix this?!

Problems? Not working?

What does that mean? What version of InDesign? How are you viewing the PDF?

Then it's not an InDesign issue. Check the Acrobat forum and see anyone there can help you out.
