InDesign 2020: Buttons and Forms library is not shown

Community Beginner ,

I have upgraded from InDesign 2019 to InDesign 2020. When I go to design an interactive form,  I select "Interactive for PDF" for the menus. From the "Buttons and Forms" panel, I want to select the fly-out menu option "Sample Buttons and Forms" but is is dimmed and not able to be activated. However, I do have the button library ButtonLibrary.indl in the file path \Applications\Adobe InDesign 2020\Presets\Button Library.

How do I activate the flyout menu so that I can select the Sample Buttons and Forms library?

Note you can't succesfully use multi-state buttons with Interactive PDF, stick to simple internal and external hyperlinks.

Hi rooslr,

that ButtonLibrary.indl file is just an InDesign Library file. Nothing special.

Duplicate the indl file to e.g. your Desktop and open it with InDesign's File > Open… menu dialog.

It should show its contents. I don't think that anything in this library changed from CC 2019 to 2020.
