InDesign 2024 unrecognizing previously loaded fonts

I'm running InDesign 2024 on Windows 10. I am working in a file that is being used across multiple users in my company. I had to load an OTF font InDesign wasn't recognizing, Montserrat (OTF).  Every time I open the file, it says it can't find the font.  When I check my CreativeCloud, it shows the font has been dowloaded and installed - but doesn't specify whether it is Montserrat (OTF), just Montserrat.  InDesign force quits every time I encounter the font not found error.  Suggestions? Thank you.

Try searching all over your computer for any Montserrat and delete any and all of them. Then download and activate the Montserrat font from fonts.adobe.com. See if that makes any difference. The same font available from c:\Windows\fonts as well as a "Document fonts" folder as well as provided by Adobe fonts can confuse InDesign.
