I am having problems with InDesign 2025 image display. I have inserted some jpegs and have the Display Performance High Quality Display selected. I have copied and pasted the exact same jpegs into 2024 InDesign and they display perfectly. I have exported the doc and in pdf form the images are fine.
What can I do? Can anyone help please?

"Display Performance High Quality Display" as a global setting or for this image?

The standard drop down menu - I always have my documents with high quality image display. I also just noticed the object size of the image is not displaying. I am thinking I might need to reload InDesign2025?

2025 is extremely buggy... Going back to 2024 is the most recommended solution right now.
And let me guess - you are a Mac user?

No! It's a PC. Yes I am discovering numerous faults. PDF doesn't display automatically even though that is ticked and is on the same settings I use faultlessly with 2024 InDesign. Unfortunately I receive a few 2025 InDesign docs now. I agree. I will revert them down to 2024 until the coast is a little clearer. Thanks for your feedback Robert at ID-Tasker

I’m experiencing the same issue and haven’t found a solution yet. :S However, until Adobe fixes the problem, I’ve found a temporary workaround: If you go to View > Overprint Preview, all the images are displayed in high quality.

Hi @studiota,
Apologies that you are facing this issue and thanks for sharing the workaround. To help you better, could you let me know the exact version of InDesign 2025 you're using? Also, please share your operating system details as well. Does this issue occur with just one specific file or are all your InDesign files showing pixelated images?
If possible, it would be great if you could share a screenshot showing the difference in image quality. And if you're okay with it, a sample INDD file would really help us test and troubleshoot further.
Looking forward to your reply!
Abhishek

Actually, it accours for every other project I have. when I open the same project on 2024 via IDML file, all the images are displayed in high quality.

Hi @StudioTA,
Thanks again for the info! I tried reproducing the issue on my end using InDesign 2025 (v20.3), but everything seems to display correctly here, even without Overprint Preview turned on.
To help us dig a bit deeper, could you please share a sample INDD file where you're seeing this issue? That would really help us test it out in the same conditions and get closer to a solution.
Appreciate your help.
Abhishek

Is there any way to send you the files in private?

By @studiota
You need to click on the nickname of the person - but then you'll have to upload file somewhere first and send link - you can't send attachments with privatee messages.

After opening the IDML file in the latest version of inDesign the images still show incorrectly or not as sharp as expected?
I'd try
1) Try relinking some files and see if relinking them helps rebuild the preview - if it does you can relink all the images in one go.
2) Try Packaging the File and see if it clears up
If that isn't working
Try moving your pages to a new document
You can create a new doc and then go the previous document that is wonky
In the pages panel - select the page(s) and in the Panel menu top right, choose Move Pages - then for the destination set the new document.
This should move the pages to the new doc.

As a side note - I wonder is your Display Performance set correctly in the new InDesign?
